The Ceremonial Procession of the Kudung

At 10 o'clock on the morning of the tenth day of the first month of Miracles (Saturday, 16th February) seven days after the parinirvana of Kyabje Mindrolling Trichen, the Kudung was conducted in a full ceremonial procession from Kunzang Phodrang, the Ladrang where he resided for many years, to the main shrine room of Ngedön Gatsal Ling.

The Kudung was borne by eight tulkus of the Mindrolling Monastery: Khunu Rinpoche Jangchub Nyima, Tulku Gyurme Drakpa Gyaltsen, Tulku Gyurme Lhundrub Tengye, Tulku Gyurme Lhundrub Phelgye, Tulku Gyurme Yeshe Dorje, Tulku Gyurme Jampal Wangpo, Tulku Gyurme Lobzang Chöphel and Tulku Gyurme Namgyal.

The procession was led by  the Chödön Kalön (Minister of Religious Affairs of the Central Tibetan Administration of His Holiness the Dalai Lama), HE Shechen Rabjam Rinpoche, HE Sakya Dungsey Gyana Vajra Rinpoche, Sakya Gyalyum Chenmo, HE Minling Khenchen Rinpoche, HE Neten Chokling Rinpoche, HE Luding Khen Rinpoche, HE Khangsar Shabdrung Rinpoche, HE Penam Rinpoche, HE D.G. Khochhen Rinpoche, Mindrolling Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche, HE Dzatrul Rinpoche, HE Daktrul Rinpoche, the Special Envoy to His Holiness the Dalai Lama—Lodi Gyari Rinpoche, HE Dobum Rinpoche,  Ogyen Tobgyal Rinpoche, Ringo Tulku Rinpoche, Dhagpo Rinpoche, Gyalse Rinpoche, Mön Thegtse Rinpoche, and many other tulkus and khenpos of the four schools of Tibetan Buddhism. The tulkus and officials were followed by all the monks of Mindrolling in full procession and other monastics from the neighbouring monasteries.

Also, His Eminence Sakya Dungsey Ratna Vajra Rinpoche and Sakya Monastery Director Jamyang Lekshey, blessed Mindrolling with their presence at the time arriving with over 200 monks from the Glorious Sakya Monastery and 300 monks from the Sakya College. The monks from the Drikung monastery, Dehra Dun and the Drikung nunnery also came to join the procession and pay homage to the Kudung.
