The lung for these powerful transmissions reached its end on March 5th, 2009. From the beginning of the lung on the 15th day of the 9th lunar month (November 13th, 2008), His Eminence Namkhai Nyingpo Rinpoche had transmitted the entire 64 volumes and some additional supplementary volumes of the lung for the Rinchen Terdzöd with great proficiency, single-pointed focus and exemplary dedication.
His Eminence Namkhai Nyingpo Rinpoche's loving devotion to Kyabje Taklung Tsetrul Rinpoche was wonderful for everyone to see and inspired everyone to deepen one's understanding and practice of devotion and humility. Namkhai Nyingpo Rinpoche's unassuming and modest approach to daily life and activities was a great example of the simple and pure life which is the goal of each practitioner. Rinpoche's quiet and unaffected interactions with everyone were a constant reminder of how a true practitioner of the buddhadharma must always strive to be free from any affectations and pomp.
The lung for Rinchen Terdzöd concluded on the morning of the 9th day of the first lunar month (March 5th, 2009). An extensive ten zhug (longevity ceremony) was offered to His Eminence Namkhai Nyingpo Rinpoche by the entire sangha of those who had received the Terdzöd lung with heartfelt gratitude and appreciation.
In the early morning of the 11th day of the 1st lunar month (March 7th 2009) the entire sangha gathered to offer ten zhug to His Eminence Namkhai Nyingpo Rinpoche so that Rinpoche would continue to bless fortunate students with his presence for many many years into the future and that Rinpoche's dharma activities may continue to flourish and expand for the benefit of all sentient beings.
As a mark of immense gratitude and appreciation for Namkhai Nyingpo Rinpoche's great kindness in bestowing the lung for the Terdzöd, Her Eminence Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche made manifold and vast offerings to His Eminence Namkhai Nyingpo Rinpoche. Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche offered an elaborate mandala offering to His Eminence Namkhai Nyingpo Rinpoche along with a vast array of offerings.
Then the entire sangha of those gathered for the Terdzöd transmissions offered khataks (traditional silk scarves) and offering gifts to Namkhai Nyingpo Rinpoche. Rinpoche untiringly blessed the thousands who came up to offer their appreciation and seek his blessings all through the morning.
