Café Opening at Devaloka

The Uptown Café had its grand opening on the 17th of February 2012. The cafe is located at the Devaloka complex on the Mindrolling campus. Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche, Sangyum Kushog, Jetsün Dechen Paldrön, Britton Bosarge, many monks and nuns as well as western guests made a visit on the opening day.

Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche and Jetsunla are greeted by Lama Phuntsok Namgyal la, (senior manager of Mindrolling Monastery) who worked tirelessly from start to finish in all aspects—designing to building to final opening and operating—of the Uptown Café.

The Uptown Café boasts 'The Best Coffee in Town' and all who were lucky enough to sample the wonderful coffee, pastries and frozen drinks couldn’t have agreed more. The Café project is part of an effort to provide viable businesses around the Mindrolling Monastery complex in an effort to help support the local Tibetan community.
